In the knife world Emerson Knives is doing their part, auctioning off a special knife for a good cause. This particular, customized Emerson CQC-7, dubbed the Galaxy 7, benefits St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
St. Jude’s is a world-renowned, non-profit medical facility dedicated to providing free healthcare to severely ill children. They may be best known for their work in combating cancer, but St. Jude’s now handles all sorts of different life-threatening diseases. A research facility as well as a practicing clinic, St. Jude’s has played a key role, not only in saving the lives of thousands of sick kids, but pushing forward the research that may prevent future generations from dealing with these deadly diseases in the same way.
Emerson Knives has stated that 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the Galaxy 7 will go to St. Jude’s. The Galaxy 7 is a special one-off version of the CQC-7, the most famous knife in Emerson’s storied catalog. The most obvious special element here are the scales, a rich blue G-10 sporting a stars and nebulae motif. Most of the hardware, including the pivot screw, thumb plate, and titanium backspacer have been given a lustrous, multihued anodization; the black-coated blade has stars printed on it to round out the astral look.
The auction is open now through 12:45pm on December 17th. If you happen to have the cash, this is a chance to bid on a one of a kind knife, with the proceeds going to a truly good cause. If the knife itself is out of your price range, you can of course donate to St. Jude’s directly right here.
